Previous Award Winners
Congratulations to those of you who received the 2011 EAPL-S awards! Awards were handed out at the joint AP-LS/EAPL/ANZAPPL conference in Miami, Florida. For all of you who applied but didn't receive an award, we wish you the best of luck for next year. This year's international winners are:Poster awards:
First Place, $ 250: Helen Alfredsson (Sweden). Poster titled: "Perpetrator characteristics, participants' gender and belief in a just world influencing rape blame attributions."

Second Place, $ 200: Leanne ten Brinke (Canada). Poster titled: "Facial characteristics of human trustworthiness."

Third Place, $ 150: Lara Warmelink (UK): Poster titled: "People in drawings: A cue to deception."

Travel awards (each worth $ 200):
Longest Distance:
Anja Jansen from the Netherlands (flew 7458 km)
Highest GPA:
Laura Smalarz from the USA (GPA of 4.0)
Research paper:
Sarah Hänert from Germany (with her research titled: "The influence of translations on transcript-based credibility assessments")

Honorable mentions for the poster awards:
- Jelena Corovic (Sweden). Poster titled: "What crime scene behaviors differentiate between single-victim and serial rapists by the actions at their first stranger rape?."
- Masha Tkatchouk (Canada) and Maria Francisca Rebocho (Portugal). Poster titled: "Are there relationships between offence behaviours and offender characteristics in the population of Portuguese sex offenders?."
- Summer Altson-Smith (United Kingdom). Poster titled: "Kidnapping: Placing the British experience in the global context."
- Evelyne Debey (Belgium). Poster titled: "Depleting inhibition resources: Can it improve lie detection?."
